How to use JEE PYQs for revision
- 1. Simulate JEE Main timing — 3 hours for 90 questions; track time per subject block (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).
- 2. Log errors by chapter — tag mistakes as concept, calculation, or time-pressure to guide revision.
- 3. Relearn from source material — return to NCERT and standard problems for every wrong answer, not just the solution key.
- 4. Re-attempt flagged questions — spaced repetition on weak topics after 7–10 days improves retention.
Subject-wise important JEE Main topics
High-yield chapters that appear often in JEE previous year question papers. Match against the JEE syllabus for full chapter coverage and weightage.
| Subject | Important topics | PYQ note |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | Mechanics, current electricity, magnetism, modern physics, waves & optics | Numerical speed matters |
| Chemistry | Chemical bonding, equilibrium, electrochemistry, organic mechanisms, coordination compounds | Mix of concepts + calculations |
| Mathematics | Calculus, coordinate geometry, algebra, vectors, probability | Highest weightage chapters drive rank |
